Included here are just a select few of the events and programs that Wild Ones Quad Cities hosts and participates in. Please visit our Facebook page for all the photos, details, and highlights of these events and many more! We also share native gardening tips & reminders and help spread the word of other good work being done in our community, as well as upcoming local events.
Fall Events 2023
Wild Ones members had lots of fun this fall! We enjoyed our annual Seed Swap party at the Butterworth Education Center on October 7 and then took a field trip a few weeks later to member Marilyn Andress’s property to help harvest native seeds. A big thank you to everyone who planned, volunteered, and participated in these events!
Help Me/ Show Me Events, 2023
During Help Me/ Show Me Events, we gather to help spark ideas and share native gardening knowledge with homeowners. Participants tour the property, ask questions, and gain insight from experienced native gardeners. These are really popular and fun social events for our members!
Table Events, 2023
In 2023, we have participated in several events throughout the Quad Cities. This is an opportunity for us to share information about our organization and about native plants. We are so thankful to our many volunteers who help run the tables at these events! Included in the photos here are: Farmer’s Market Earth Day Celebration in Davenport, Grace Lutheran Church’s Annual Garden Party in Davenport, and Niabi Zoo’s Earth Day Celebration in Coal Valley.
Plants, Paths, and Pizza Symposium, April 14, 2023
We joined forces with the Western Illinois University Counselor Education Department for an evening full of interesting discussion, a movie short, a native plant garden tour, and a panel discussion. Connections were made with like-minded people in the Quad Cities and participants learned about the local initiatives and efforts to create sustainable environments in our community.

Planting Day, September 7, 2022
Wild Ones members and friends joined together to plant a large area of native plants in Moline, Illinois. Member Paul Crosser designed the planting layout, with plants purchased from our partner Purple Violet Shop. It was a beautiful day to plant native!
